Research overview - Publications
The research group coordinated by Prof. Daniela Cecconi has a specific expertise and a strong technical background in proteome analysis, a field in which Prof. Cecconi pioneered some of the techniques presently in use (such as isotopic labelling for differential proteomic analysis [1], multivariate statistical approach for 2DE data analysis [2-6], combinatorial peptide ligand libraries for protein prefractionation [7]).

The main research activity of the laboratory is the study of the Pancreatic Cancer through Proteomic technologies. This research is active in the laboratory since 2003 [8-14] (thanks to the collaboration with research groups of Medicine, mainly Prof. Scarpa and Prof. Palmieri).
Currently the group is working on a project concerning shotgun proteomic analysis of pancreatic cancer stem cells, which is also based on a collaboratioon with the NIHR Liverpool Pancreas Biomedical Research Unit, University of Liverpool (Prof. Costello).

Since 2013 Daniela Cecconi is also involved in a COST Action, EU Pancreas, as an Expert member for Italy of the COST Action (BM1204), “An integrated European platform for pancreas cancer research: from basic science to clinical and public health interventions for a rare disease”.
