Param. assoc family allows to see the whole associated family of Scherk's minimal surfaces:
0 corresponds to Scherk's doubly periodic surface,
1 to the singly periodic Saddle Tower. The values inbetween show how the first surface can be deformed isometrically into the second, passing through a family of minimal surfaces. When the parameter is
0 or
1, several periods of the surfaces are shown, unless the checkbox
Show periodicity is unchecked: in that case, only a "fundamental piece" is shown. The checkboxes
Show mesh and
Show smooth surface are self-explanatory: by default, both are checked. The button
Change background cyclically changes the background among a few choices. The default background is flat, but less demanding in terms of graphics resources...
